Potremmo definirlo un album di transito: si va dalle tendenze rockettare pesanti di "The flood" a pezzi più swingati ma la sensazione è la stessa, e cioè che il gruppo attraversi una crisi di identità. Essa è peraltro ben rappresentata dalla confezione: L'immagine dei musicisti nella foto di copertina di Andrew Cleal va scomparendo, essi diventano come ombre. Parlando di grafica, va anche detto che lo sfondo rosa del disegnatore Tony Engle è orribile.
