Ashley Hutchings, Paradise and Thorn

Un bellissimo album doppio, disponibile anche in vinile, attraverso il quale Ashley rivisita il suo "Gloucester Docks" del 1987 di cui questo disco è una sorta di continuazione di una storia in precedenza incompleta che mescola registrazioni passate, nuovo materiale, letture e filmati. La prima nuova registrazione arriva con la pastorale "Art Nouveau", che esplora la donna come metafora dei fiori, co-scritta con Ken Nicol, cantata da Barry Coope e con arrangiamento di quartetti d'archi di Joe Broughton, con se stesso al violino e Jo Hamilton alla viola. La registrazione è stata effettuata da Paul Hopkinson al Foundry Recording Studio nel corso del 2017 e 2018. L’artwork è opera di Mike Toole. CD 1: Gloucester Docks Revisited 1.
