Va bene: di solito le ristampe di dischi su cd sono alquanto spartane. Ma qui la Island si supera: due delle quattro  smilze facciate di copertina sono occupate dalla ripetizione dei titoli delle tracce. Rimangono la copertina, che rievoca lo stile delle ballate anglo-scozzesi che caratterizza questo album, ed una foto B/N del gruppo, scattata Eric Hayes. Il lavoro è molto bello, si potrebbe citare la nota "Matty Groves" ma anche la dolcissima "Farewell Farewell" di Thompson, cantata splendidamente da Sandy Denny. Alla maturità del gruppo contribuisce molto anche l'arrivo di Dave Mattacks, nuovo batterista.

Recorded:Recording Sessions for this album took place between September and November 1969 at Sound Techniques, London. Recorded on 8-Track - "Farewell Farewell" and "The Deserter" were recorded on 16 October 1969 - Crazy Man Michael was recorded on 19 October 1969 - "Reynardine" and "Matty Groves" were recorded on 22 October 1969 - "Come All Ye", "The Lark In The Morning Medley", and "Tam Lin" were recorded on 29 October 1969.
